5 stars: We have been eating sushi all over the world. This is by far our favorite. The service is always warm and friendly. The nigiri has large, thick pieces. Every item is fresh. They make the best Catapillar Roll anywhere. If eating in or ordering to take home, we are always thrilled with our meal.

5 stars: Hands down the best sushi place I have ever been to…and I know sushi. My wife is currently on a 12 step program for her wasabi and soy sauce addiction. They are reasonably priced with decent sized portions; a friendly, fun, family atmosphere.

5 stars: Prompt seating, prompt serving. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Large, very healthy looking sashimi pieces. The rice was flavorful and I could recognize all the fresh ingredients. The best sushi place I have ever eaten at.

5 stars: Fresh fish and great service make this a 1-2 weekly stop...the chef will usually accomadate most requests. Also the prices are more then reasonable and unbeatable for Seattle or anywhere else. Great sake selection also...

5 stars: No advertising, no sponsored links; yet people are always eating there. The sashimi portions are large, varied, and tasty...the serving size for dollar paid is very good. Many menu items can be tailored to suit your request. Skip the rest and stay with the best.

4 stars: The West Seattle Junction, oddly, has quite a few choices of sushi joints now, but my favorite is Azuma. It has a nice, low key atmosphere, good food and fair prices. It is your 'everyday' type sushi place, good for a Thursday night you don't feel like cooking. A great value is the bento boxes, where for $8 smackeroos you can get teriyaki, rice, salad, miso, california rolls and green tea. Be on the lookout for the sushi clock and the life-sized geisha mannequin in the corner hawking beer.

5 stars: Azuma isn't the kind of spectacular sushi restaurant that will wow you at every turn. There's no perfectly maintained salt water fish tank or fancy decor. The staff isn't going to make a big fuss over you. There's no tatami room. You won't find a billion yuppies here disussing their most recent scuba adventures. It's not the place that will bring you the most exotic fish or the most avant garde rolls.

Despite all that, Azuma is by far my favorite sushi place on the planet.

The sushi is consistently delicious and fresh, served up by one of the friendliest sushi chefs around. Watching his hands work miracles with fish, seaweed and rice is poetry at high speeds. (Sit at the bar to get the full effect.) Your sushi will never be fishy or otherwise unpleasant. The edamame is always fresh and tasty. The miso soup is sublime.

The staff are friendly and efficient. You never go long without having your drink refilled.

Sure you could go someplace fancy and spend a lot of money, but if you're like me you'll love the balance of price, quality and service you get from the most unpretentious purveyors of raw fish in West Seattle.

There's no one to impress here but your tastebuds.

5 stars: On Saturday afternoons when I'm craving sushi this is where I go. It's always fresh and full of flavor. Their Tropicana roll made spicy is delightful I can't get enough.

Their bento meals are also very tasty. I've never had a bad meal here. A few years ago my brother was in town and I took him here he still talks about their teriyaki beef. He claims it is by far the best he's ever had...

4 stars: Sushi was a highlight of my weekend...again.

Any time of the week Azuma is my prefered sushi in West Seattle. The service is great; owner and chef is polite and present contributing to the experience with his fabulous sense of humor. Everything is fresh and it can not be said enough the be
